Tldr: what carb should I order for this weed eater? What might the effect of putting the wrong carb on it be?

Does this thing have a vent in the gas cap?

I think this might be the sn 4134 967 3403

I am on my second or 3rd cheap ebay carb for my Stihl fs250r . They seem to work okay except this last one I got I have been having problems with it flooding. I guess the "float" needle isn't sealing or being held open so a stream of fuel comes out of the carb sometimes. I guess that's what you get for $13 haha.

Anyway I'm looking for another one and the local shop wants the serial number from the carb on the machine which I no longer have. They say there are 3 different versions.

Your dealer should look right and he would see that not all of these 3 versions were availible in the US. Some of them are already nla or were only availible in Brasil.

According to the D.O.M date of your picture, the C1Q-S162A should fit your FS 250R (part no. 4134 120 0653).

The tank vent is located in the gas cap. You will find the serial no. of the machine here (see screenshot)
