Yes it is Kenny as it comes in a 28" x12" sheet. .063" thick. About $15 out the door.
The HD exhaust manifold gaskets have that material sandwiched in the middle of two metal plates. They all have holes for better clamping I'd guess. They do compress so tighten them till they don't. Maybe ever tank of gas.

Update on the gasket I fixed. Sucker rattled the bolts loose again a year or so ago. 55 rancher. With the actual bolts. Took it apart but the gasket was too screwed up. I didn’t try putting it back with just sealant. That didn’t occur to me. I did however make one out of an aluminum can. Soda not beer on fellas. I know. I know. Anyway it’s been back together for a year or so now. Working fine.

Yep, aluminium is what I’ve used from beer cans (that’s what I’ve usually got in the trash)
Simply cut with scissors and a hole punch.
On the odd occasion I’ve doubled the aluminium by folding it over

Most times , I use coarse sandpaper on it for roughing it up a bit and smear a little rtv over both sides before assembly.

Good idea guys.
I've basically done away with some gaskets. Just don't use them. I've noticed no difference and no leaking.
But I like the can gasket idea.
