I’ve had this happen with both Chinese coils I tried on a neighbors 361, ended up retarding the timing slightly to solve it. He ran the saw around a year and that coil died so I got a slightly more expensive China coil because he didn’t want to fork out 200$ for oem. Tried stock timing with new key and this one ran backwards also once out of the 15-20 times I started it so put the other key back. The second one started ok then but was lazy on acceleration like the advanced map was off.
This one burned out and the last time he brought it to me I stuck a new key in flywheel and a ms 441 coil in things been good 2 years now.

Interesting experience. How did you know that the 441 coil would fit and work with it?

Well guys use the 361 and 441 coils both on 088/880’s to get rid of the rev limit so I figured the non mtronic 441 should work on a 361. I matched up one i had all stuff lined up well bolt and coil body wise only difference appearance wise was the grounding spade was in a different location and angle. Saw runs well and you’d never know if the 441 coil is limited to lower rpm than the 361.

I recently bought a non-running ms361 in fairly good condition. Replaced the ignition coil with after market and have MM'd it, base gasket delete and ported it. Have had some carburation issues but is running fairly well. But... Sometimes when I start it, it runs backwards. I've heard of this and understand that 2stroke ports don't care what direction they run in, but not sure how it works with a coil firing before TDC. I've never seen this happen though and wonder if anybody can enlighten me on what might be causing it.
Time for an exorcism!

nope, just took a wild guess that 2 064,s would run on different coils. and the proved fine
