It should. Get the heavy duty rope one made for the 660, the spool is wider and the rope is thicker than on a 460.

440 and up take the same one by the part number. It's a pain to get the bigger rope through the spool on the 1128.

They gave me a larger diameter rope for the 066s than the 460s use, and the recoil has a wider spool to accommodate it.

What they wrote on the receipt: 1128 190 3400 for the 460s, and 0000 190 3414 for the 066s. The actual parts are in the shed, and it is too mucky to go back there now. I paid $7 more for the larger one, but they gave me good prices over all (another place sells the 460s for what I paid for the 066 ones).

They're fine. I prefer a D handle on real high compression saws
I'm thinking about that also. I've seen so many Elastostart handles break down on the MS660 that I have to wonder about it. Loggers drop start their saws all the time and eventually, the Elastostart is history.

Usually the flexible rubber part breaks apart. The stop affixed to the cord simply pulls it apart. After that, all you have left is an oversize handle that flops all over the place.

They'll last longer for sure.

Is there any good am options on a 064 crank? After cleaning my crank case I can hear some squeaking on the big end

i put a 4.5mm elastostart on my 026 and it worked, though it looks a little goofy.

Well here are my three running saws

The 044 with bigbore kit wont idle but runs well at full throttle. I have checked and cleaned the carb, filters etc, haven't checked the vacuum yet because I don't have the tool.

Dimes to donuts that 044 is suffering from a flakey carb. An MS440 I got in was suffering from the same symptoms, constantly hiccuping on idle and hesitating on acceleration. No carb settings would cure it. I replaced the carb entirely and it's now running good as new.

That was what I was thinking too, would a kit fix the carb or is a new carb the only fix?.

new carb is the easiest way because sometimes a carb can be cleaned and rebuilt and it will still run like chit.

At one time carbs were three times what they cost today. Rebuilding and thoroughly cleaning them made the most sense. Now I'm not so sure. Two out of the last five that I rebuilt showed no improvement, but a few of my friends in the repair business have a far better track record than I do.
