I have owned and used this 046 for about 5 years now. It is a very strong running, easy to start saw. I lucked up on a MS461 last week and now need to free up some cash I put into the 461.
My compression gauge measures the compression at 170#. The piston looks pristine- the streaks you see in the pic are oil. The only potential problem I know of is one crack at the rear of the handle that goes about halfway through. It was there when I bought the saw, and has never gone any further. The manufacture date on the handle shows 9803. This should be the desirable "D" cylinder. As far as I know everything is original.
