They've vibrated out this way .........

Mine just really sits now, I can't stand the AF just as much as I can't stand the choke. I saw how Scott did a switch and doesn't use the on/off/choke lever, so my wheels are spinning for a carb swap....... just need the time to play around with it.
If you find out what kind of carb and filter works better let us all know. I'd like to have one as close to stock as possible since I'll eventually sell mine anyway and don't want to modify the saw too much..

I used to think like this .............. then I tried a bunch of different carbs. Nothing I tried was working out.
I just went with the velocity stack so I wouldnt waste any more time on it.
It works great, but I wouldnt want to head into the woods with it for a day. The air filter can be a bit in the way sometimes. For fun, its perfect, not so much for working. If I was just cutting firewood at home, it would be good.

You'd get used to it. Lots of west coasters still put velocity stacks on and go into the woods daily.

+ on the metal winter filter.
Forget that 038 filter/choke design!

I'm back to the drawing board on my
038 filter enhancements...
