The base gasket delete and porting definitely woke her up.....

Now Scotty the moral of this story is when you run off chasing a round heading off down stream, don't leave your saw going ding-de-de-ding-dang on a log above water. That tenacious effort to retrieve the runaway round was good, the idling saw doing a competition style Olympic dive into the drink... not so muchy.
Oh that's for sure brother. But if it wasn't for "broken" things, I wouldn't have almost any of my saws.....that's how I like to find them.It sure is nice when it isn't something broken.
Amen to that. I'm a locomotive electrician, and I learned a long time ago when troubleshooting to look for the obvious first.....but it was late when I was throwing this together and it slipped past me....Like I alluded to ,some times it's really simple , but you can't see the forest for trees . It could happen to anybody .--Bet you never forget it again
Yessir, Al. And that's fine for serial tree killin...As they say,it's got enough ---
Sounds like you were in more-or-less the exact same boat I was....lolGlad you found the problem, I was leaning toward the carb being the problem.
Had and Asian 440 BB driving me crazy earlier this year. Thought it was a carb problem, but after multiple carb changes found two different problems … the flywheel had spun, and either the fuel line or impulse line was bad (changed both at the same time).
Was just so good to finally get the dang thing running right I can't tell you! Drove me crazy! And I had done a good deal of port work to the cylinder and was just dying to see how it ran! Turned out pretty good!
I think this is what's going on with my 019T...the fuel line is really soft and collapses on itself at WOT. Problem is I cannot find new fuel lines for that saw.and either the fuel line or impulse line was bad (changed both at the same time)
@Wolverine what model schteel did you replace lines on?I think this is what's going on with my 019T...the fuel line is really soft and collapses on itself at WOT. Problem is I cannot find new fuel lines for that saw.
Why dont you use the stock Stihl fuel line on it. Not real familiar with the 009, but if its like the 011, which I think it is, replaced one once with it and it worked great.I think this is what's going on with my 019T...the fuel line is really soft and collapses on itself at WOT. It's a molded line, with a fat grommet that goes into the tank and seals it.Your local dealer ought to be able to cut you off a foot of it.
