@Mastermind will like that one
That's cool Tim.I rode on this little train located at the Toronto Eaton's store in toy land during Christmas in the 1950's. The little Loco is preserved in a railroad museum in Montreal. It's a mini copy of CN's 6400 streamliner 4-8-4 northern built in 1936. Both cool looking engines.
The CN 6400 is preserved and located in Ottawa Ontario.

That's cool Tim.
Watching, riding, reading about em. I'm all in.A little boy's dream! I still like watching trains.
I worked at three rail yards (intermodal) in the mid 90s for almost three years and I still can't get enough. I can still remember the cars we used, TTAX, TTEX, DTTX, 3-packers, 5-packers, 10-packers (these were being phased out), 5-packer wells, 3-packer wells, wells with hitches, wells without hitches. Knock down hitches, raise hitches. What always amazed me was the double stack well cars where you could have an empty 45' container on the bottom and a fully loaded (80,000 lbs) 53' container on top and the only thing holding them together were four twist-lock knuckles. I learned the hard way you can't double stack two high-cube containers in a well car and send it from Kansas City to Illinois...apparently there is a tunnel too low for that...oops, nobody told me.A little boy's dream! I still like watching trains.

Did they rebuild that tunnel or just pick up the flying containers?... I learned the hard way you can't double stack two high-cube containers in a well car and send it from Kansas City to Illinois...apparently there is a tunnel too low for that...oops, nobody told me.
They had to rebuild the tunnel where the container impacted it. The whole top of the container just pealed right off.Did they rebuild that tunnel or just pick up the flying containers?![]()
Awesome pictures!!Came across these old photos of my Wife’s great grandfather.
Is that the transportation museum in Ottawa? I have been there with my kids. Very cool place.One of my grand son checking out CN 6400 in Ottawa.
Came across these old photos of my Wife’s great grandfather. He was an Engineer and Conductor for Western Maryland in West Virginia. He ran the line between Cass and Slatyfork for many years and lived in the town of Spruce. It was train access only and became a ghost town in the late 50’s. You can still hike the abandoned track and check out the ruins.
