What a cool facility and equipment. Thx for posting.
And my wife thinks CAD is bad LOL!
Are the Pullman cars a replica of what was built in Butler, Pa.?

I'm not sure. If the model builder stayed true to the entire train it's very likely that the cars are replicas of cars built by Canadian Car and Foundry. By records, it looks like they built all of CN's passenger cars from WWII through the 50's and later.

They did build cars for most of Canada's rail companies from the early 1900's.

Also know as Can Car and CCF and they made a lot of buses.

Interesting locomotive. Consolidation class Loco.

Apparently the most produced locomotive ever with 35,000 built from the 1800's to the mid 1940's

It would be easier to list the companies in North America that didn't use them than those that did.

Was it a good excursion?

It was indeed.

The remains of the old Chessie System Lexington sub are near my home. One of these rare days that I am free of wife and kid I need to go explore it. Part of it was turned into a fairly long walking trail and some old buildings previously used by the railroad are still standing.

It makes me sad how class ones just drop historic lines like pushing the garbage out to the curb. Especially when you consider that congress and the states gave them basically feudal powers to take whatever the hell they wanted back in the day.

I know it's not a steam engine but you guys may like this birds eye view.

Our 250 ton crane went down in the middle of trucking this unit (I was flying it using the remote control) from temporary truck to the road trucks. I had get up in the basket and finish the job old school.

The unit is a GE D9-40CW to AC44C6M for our D/C to A/C conversion. Which basically is a GE EVO with a different engine in it.

The pictures are out of order I know.
