So, Im putting together a Husky 351 with a new 346ne P&C, with the ringless piston on the rod I bolted the gasketless cyl. down with two bolts to check squish, it is coming up .017-.018. Does anyone think I can get by with this?

I'm likin these answers, thanks guys.
Most of the Huskys come out at .021- .022, but this one is a little tighter. Now I'm just waiting for the 372 metal boot clamp to get here.

John
You gonna be runnin it at the rush city races in July?

Hey, Matt, thanks for the info., we were posting at the same time. Looking forward to seeing you in July.
It was a shame to tear down this 351, it is in fine shape, it started 2 pulls cold 3 days in a row, the ring gap is a tight .008 but that open port cyl. just ain't no 346.

Posting at the same time again, oh yeah I'll be there. (edit) only if it's faster than my other one.

They sure aren't, but you'll love the 346NE jug on there.
Don't raise the exhaust on it, and keep the in and out as large and free as you can stand.

Well guys, I couldn't make myself put a dremmel to that new ne cyl. so it went together with just a gasket delete & a muff mod.
Squish is .018, started right up & ran great, no problems, had to cut back on the idle speed some. Next day started on three pulls, still running good. It came with an 18" 041 bar on it with a chain I didn't like so it got a 16" ko95 with a semi chis. .325, only chain I had loose at the moment, I put a good sharp on it and after warming the saw up and shutting it down a couple of times I took it out to what's left of my elm log & let er eat:D, even with the semi chain it does what 346s do, put a smile on my face. Now I need to see whether it's faster than my other one, the slow one goes off to see the wizzard.
