And it’s still the 3rd best Diesel engine you can get in a truck. Not bad, GM.

The powerstroke costs about the same from Ford.
I'm not sure what Fiat, or whomever owns Mopar these days gets for a Cummins.

Not really.
A brand new from GM in the crate LML Duramax comes in at $15k.
Ouch.

I'm still not super enthusiastic about dropping coin on an engine and trans with 80k miles that somebody else pulled from their own wrecked truck. That's salty, and probably doesn't come with the Allison?

I was just making a dumb joke, but Yeah everything is retardedly expensive these days.

Lol. I have no doubt.
I see first hand how stupid pricing is on some of this car stuff. It's all manufacturers too.
Thats why I always tell people, buy what appeals to you and what you can afford. They all break.

one of these would be fun

You would have to spend some serious money to get a small block to keep up with that. A comparable big block wouldn't be cheap either. I like it, but if I was building a tow pig, I'd stick with the iron block 6.0.

Connect and Cruise with a T-56 for a little over $13 grand.

I have a t56 magnum in my Camaro, love it! I did some research on putting in trucks, and first gear isn’t low enough for heavy rigs and the clutch isn’t happy, even 4500lb rigs have problems. I was researching for my 2wd short box’s and believe it or not the nv3500 is a better option once you get over 4500lbs. My 81 weighs 3800lbs and my 03 is 4500lbs. Guys that did 6.0 swaps with cams were having clutch issues in 99-07 swb 2wd trucks even with 3.73-4.11 gears, the t56 comes with 2.66 or 2.97 first gears, the nv3500 has a 4.08 and the nv4500 has a 3.50 second gear. The heavy truck need more gear to get moving or the have clutch issues.
