Sorry, still waiting for the saws to deliver from my dealer. I'm sitting on tenderhooks

But here is a video of another 7310sx which i will also receive later this months. From a good friend and logger for porting. Saw is on it's second tank in the video, so it's not broken in, need a re-tune after some tanks for full potential.

You re killing us softly;)

Only problem with vids like that is it takes 13mins 4 him to put the saw near wood, all while you listen to someone wearing glasses give you his opinions blah blah blah. Just start the damn thing, pin the throttle & dump it into a big piece of wood. That's it! Should have been a 1-1/2min vid not 23!lol

Gotta understand the guy - it's his YouTube channel where he actually releases few long episodes every week about his removal company. In some of those he tests equipment, in some he just shows reality of his everyday work.
Sure, for guys like us it's only cutting that matters.

That Mertens guy is discussed in the german saw communitys, he is often not objective enough with his testing, places more value on his biased opinion. And yes sometimes he talks to much :roto2palm:

But yes, it's his channel and his content, he can do what he want :nusenuse:

for me personally, his content is often not meaningful and objective enough.

Is it me? Does it seem like the saw is underpowering for a 70 cc saw. I know it's brandy new though. Hopefully it wakes up after it's broke in. Maybe I've seen too many ported saw vids...

Skip to 11:30, 13:10, 14:30, 16:20 and 18:45 for the saw in wood.;)

Nah, that's just a standard human reaction to an Echo. Note it's with 24" bar and quite a lot of time 4-stroking which is ~12800rpm

Also it's euro-spec with 73EXL and not .050 which is more common in American videos.

I like the look of Echo's and Shins but don't see them that strong without mods. I was waiting for the wow factor and just wasn't there. If they would have improved and lightened the Shin 757 that would have been a helluva saw. I did give the consideration that the saw was new with a rich tune. Maybe as new vids are posted I'll have a different impression.

It was a bit unimpressive. To me it didn't seem like it was tuned right and probably needed a muffler mod (classic modern echo). I'm personally gonna wait until @StephK87 gets his hands on it though. I know the guy in the vid is a good tree man, but that doesn't make him a good saw man.

There won't be any wow factor. It just has the same bench cutting speed as other brands and that's it. Durability and reliability have to pass the test of time but it never makes people wow :)
The fact that modern saws just pass emission regulations and stay in one piece is wow itself.

Ah and since you compared it to 757 then this one is far ahead with filtration, materials and reliability. Making it lighter would lead to the opposite results.

As we speak here goes another detail which adds some weight but improves something. Not only it has a thick carb insulation wall but also there are some cooling fins which prevent the carburettor from heating up before next restart.

I have talked to a person who works the 7310sx and he told me that in real working conditions it works like a 572xp

Another little weight-adding detail unrelated to performance: there is an additional metal shield to protect the tank from puncturing with broken chain.
Does not increase the cutting speed, but can save at least one day of work in the forest.

I like some of the little details echo has done. They have taken some of the good proven ideas from the “big two” (husky/stihl).

And put some of their own (like push-pull pre-filtration with dust separation in the kink). I will wait until @StephK87 splits the saw and notices more details. If he doesn't, I will maybe proceed :)

Price will dictate this saws future in the US. Only echo bought so far on it own merit is the 2511T. If this saw is fairly decent and priced significantly below the big 2 70cc offerings...it should sell. I want to see it's transfer ports and how there fed.

I have to say the saw actually sounded alright in the video, yes a bit rich, but that's way better than lean, and the newest saws I've had my hand on have been really tight, so I assume it will loosen up. And yes it likely has a very restrictive exhaust. If the internals are similar to the 590/620 it should make a good running saw, but that is just my observation from looking at pics and video, so...
