High Quality Chainsaw Bars Husqvarna Toys Hockfire Saws

So what do you consider a "saw" when you are assessing your CAD?

What's a saw? A running version with a bar/chain on it? A powerhead that's mostly complete but not running? A pile of parts that may contain most of a saw but not really sure?

I generally consider parts to be a saw if I have a crankcase (with the crank in it) and at least a majority of the other parts. At any one time I'm not really sure how many "runners" I have and it doesn't matter all that much to me because if I need another runner, I just build one up.

So, based on my criteria I have 52 saws on my inventory list (not counting the ones I didn't put on my list, lol). I probably have about a dozen that either are currently running or could be with a small bit of attention. This number has gradually been getting smaller. and I fully intend to reduce it by at least another 50%. Some saws are ones that used to interest me but don't anymore but many are still in parts because I just haven't had the time to attend to them...

most of the saws that I see that are "complete" aren't complete. if you are missing a top cover screw, or a starter cover screw, its $2 + ship to buy one. drives me nuts (balls..) ...no.... bolts. right. anyway, most used saws that I see sold aren't complete either. missing av mounts get pricey too

so, is running, but missing a few screws complete? at what point to stop considering it complete?

The mrs came into my workshop and said to me "how many saws do you have?", I'm thinking how do avoid this oncoming confrontation? "Er ...........what do you define as a saw? Parts or complete?', she rolls her eyes and walks away. Phew.

So what do you consider a "saw".....
So I got this email this morning.
So, based on my criteria
So what's your "real" job?
So what did you do today?
So I had out my calipers, feeler gauges, magnifier and sharpie.
So far so good.
So I was in the shop this afternoon...
So what happened to my chaps?
So this thread is for the foreign objects you've found...
So how many bars indicates.......
So I'm thinking to myself, "is that too many?"

@fearofpavement, you need to learn fresh ways of starting a "sentence". You sound like a teenage girl about to talk her way into her first ride on a set of Schwinn handlebars.

If it has a b&c ready for gas its a saw. I don't count pho or saws in a box. So one day I could have 10 the next none lol.
