jtr - the Pioneer appears to be pretty well preserved under that protective coating

I ran my 910 a few times cutting firewood before I decided a piece of history like that should probably be preserved.

Nice score!! I just rebuilt a friends 61, I really like those and 55s. I have the start of a 55, but would like to eventually get a 61 too!
I like the 55s too. I have 2 50s, one is original the other has a 55 cylinder. I have a 55 but it' has a Chinese cylinder.

That’s a beaut. There’s also a complete 820 that I’ll be going back for sometime soon. On the other end of the spectrum, Dyno Joe just did an 820 pipe saw with two piece cylinder/head that looked pretty fast.

i made my tank out of a beer keg because i wanted a tank small enough that it was easy to move around. i made a base with wheels so i could roll it around when it has water in it. i dont have to mess with finding metal to put in it because the whole thing is stainless. i was just putting cast iron skillets in it.
I have some neglected wrenches .. was chrome now not so easy to read the size stamp. This might (In a way) rejuvenate them a bit. (Chromium in the water) I will do some more reading.

i think it would work to remove the rust just fine. not sure if it would make chromium in the water. the wrenches arent plated with chrome they are chromvanidum. not sure either im not a chemist.

Today I inspected my three shed find saws. All three saws (Jonsered 910, Husqvarna 61, Pioneer P41) have funky ignitions. The Jonsered and Husqvarna have two piece coils. The Pioneer has a rare, funky coil. The question that comes to mind when you find saws in a shed behind a saw shop is, “What’s the issue?” Bad coils is my first guess for all three. Then maybe top end issues, followed by carb issues. Turns out the Jonsered and Pioneer coils are good. They fired instantly on prime. They both have good compression too. The Husqvarna didn’t have spark. No worry though, because I have a spare two piece ignition for it! I was pleasantly surprised with all three of them.

The 61 I just worked on had the two piece coil, first time for me seeing it. The wire coating was peeling off in several places, used liquid electrical tape to get them all covered, worked pretty good.

Bought an older Cordell Redfin 5" for 3 bucks NIB........
.....and 12" used Lodge pan for wife's niece @ $10. Guess I have to fire up the elec. tank up now.....dangit. Killed my 10 amp manual a while back,.....need to try the big rolling manual 200/40amp IIRC.
Did the 10 amp transformer fry or some of the rectifier bridge stuff?
Maybe oversize some of the gizzards . I can't help you with Tech stuff, I have a 'LIL Brother helps me out if he has time.
