Some garage sale scores:
- Makita 3A, 3/8”, low speed, VSR,
- Milwaukee 4.5A, 1/2” Magnum,
- 50’, 12/3 extension cord,
All for under $20.

I guess everyone is going cordless?
(In fairness, this is after a little cleanup).

Pickaroon from Menards. It had the same yellow paint on the lower half of the handle. I stripped the whole handle, sanded to 220, a coat of Golden Pecan stain and then multiple of BLO.

It looks good not to see the pouring water. You have to look for the oil and the control valve and add a power cord because the Germans probably collect them ;-)

OK, so the Milwaukee drill I bought for $5 (a few posts above) works, but needs a new switch to reverse (without disassembly each time).

Took it be the Milwaukee Factory Service center, and everyone gathered around. ‘Wow!’ One guy said, ‘This one was even before they had date codes!’

Senior guy came over, smiled, and started quoting part numbers, and describing ‘modules’, and stuff, before everyone agreed that it was ‘a classic’, but that parts were NLA, because of design changes, suppliers who went out of business, and ‘stupid engineers’.

Figured the drill was ‘probably from the 70’s’.

We all agreed the the chuck, chuck key, key tether, and cord were all worth a lot more than $5.

I felt like I was on ‘Antiques Roadshow’.

I bought the same Mikita drill new in 1986 still using it without any problems. Have replaced the cord a couple times

Finally pulled the trigger on an ultrasonic cleaner. I went with a dial control 30 liter unit.

I need to get an ultrasonic cleaner...maybe not one that big. I had my eye on one (ebay) that had the dial controls like yours, but then it got discontinued

You went with the best one. The electronic (digital) ones are unreliable once the controls get doused with cleaning solution.
