Picked up this 42 off eBay last week, it showed up on the porch yesterday.
Runs good.

I got one for $20 but it turned out to be an anchor. I bought a piston for the sake of it and it worked, but I didn't see such a corroded box inside . 3 bearings in it were blocked

I should have the little Partners by next week .I've been doing a little research on these models,500 and 5000 in the mean time .It will be some time this summer before I get on them though .Mean while I'll get a file together with service manuals and IPL's because they are uncharted waters to me .No doubt I could figure them out without any paper work but have found out a road map certainly helps .

I sent you a condensed service manual. I read up on these and reviewed a good number of IPL's to see what the likely parts cross usages were.

Again thanks .Actually I have a general service manual but it doesn't cover the 49 cc models .Plus of all the IPL's which are many no 49's .I have noticed often times the later models and Husqvarna often cross regarding the parts numbers .However when I did the p-100's it might as well have been Chinese and could not find anything until I got an IPL of a Mac 1000 .Then it was easy .However finding parts for a 40 year old saw is not easy it' s not impossible .

I have a 5000 or two if you have issues finding parts

I'm not even certain what they might need .However every saw I've ever bought needed something .I just expected that which is why I don't pay much for them .Fact the only reason I bought these two is because I ran one at Chardon Ohio a long time ago at the saw races and although I got out ran they impressed me .

Piston , Bearings ,seals , all the rubber lines ,gasket set , some other pieces parts for a 10mm 044 . All OEM stuff ,except the piston .. meteor . When all of it comes in , it’s off to Stump Shot’s ( @Stump Shot )place for some “ massaging “ . no pics ,because all they had in stock was the bar oil hose .

council fire axe was a while back. Have an interesting splitter inbound from overseas. Also waiting for a 2186 I bought 😬
And finally something from slasher for slashing nasty palms(wider kerf helps), dirty wood, and such.
