I got one for $20 but it turned out to be an anchor. I bought a piston for the sake of it and it worked, but I didn't see such a corroded box inside . 3 bearings in it were blockedPicked up this 42 off eBay last week, it showed up on the porch yesterday.

Be sure to share some pictures of that cherry 090 after you picking it up.A few Mac bars, a Poulan 5400, an 034 or 036 carcass (I think), and as soon as I grab some more cash I'll be picking up a pretty cherry 090 for $950.
Absolutely!Be sure to share some pictures of that cherry 090 after you picking it up.
I have a 5000 or two if you have issues finding partsAgain thanks .Actually I have a general service manual but it doesn't cover the 49 cc models .Plus of all the IPL's which are many no 49's .I have noticed often times the later models and Husqvarna often cross regarding the parts numbers .However when I did the p-100's it might as well have been Chinese and could not find anything until I got an IPL of a Mac 1000 .Then it was easy .However finding parts for a 40 year old saw is not easy it' s not impossible .
I'm not even certain what they might need .However every saw I've ever bought needed something .I just expected that which is why I don't pay much for them .Fact the only reason I bought these two is because I ran one at Chardon Ohio a long time ago at the saw races and although I got out ran they impressed me .I have a 5000 or two if you have issues finding parts
