I forgot to mention I tried one of those on my 2166 with V stack and it got clogged in a few cuts quick, enough to throw off the tune. Course it’s easy enough to shake off in the field. I may try going back to the flocked on the 2166. Seems to be something to that jonsered turbo thing
Yea , that stuff you cut , throws out a lot of small particulates for sure, definitely tough on air filter systems.

You could have used a 12” bar to drop that tree.;)
:risas3:.
Yeah, but it would have had to be a fast saw, the wind was blowing and there was a house behind it and right where the wind was blowing.
Next time I get a nice one like that I'll shoot you an invite :clap2:.
It was a fun one for sure, could have used a hand.
The saw on the left side is a 372 with a 24".

So a 68 shames a 78cc saw o_O, maybe something is wrong with it. I was a bit surprised to see what looks to be a 32 on it being brand new(compared to a 268 with a 24?). While I will run a stock 7900/10 with a 32 once broke in, you need to have a well tuned chain in hardwood.
Ported is a different story, they have no problem with a 32, and will pull a 36 with a well tuned chain.

While they may have a little restriction, they never slowed my ported 7910, it was tuned at 14.4. The mufflers on the 7900 were open, but there was a bunch of junk in the 7910 can. Not sure how much power was gained removing it all, but it was a few ounces lighter without it.

Maybe he should buy this one and let his new one go at a slight loss. Carl builds a great running 7900/10.

Oh it’s brand new and that was only the first tank, I’m sure it would get better after several tanks of fuel but it was sporting a 32” EXL out of the box and the 268 was wearing a 28” EXL out of the box, it wasn’t even close. I’m going to get some sausage stuffed in it, that should fix it right up.

So, the new 7900's mufflers don't have cats in them? I have only recently started reading on them.

Looks like I should've waited and bought the one you listed. I have 2 of the 7900's coming in a couple days.

That's why I asked about the cats in the mufflers.
I have no idea about the new ones, the early 7900 did not have the same cage dealy in them, nor did the 6400.
I would buy that one and sell one of those, a ported 7900/10 is a beasty saw.

That's cool, Kevin will get it moving for sure, they wake up a lot.
Never seen a 268 run close to a 7900.
Also never seen a jred labeled Oregon bar in 28", where'd you find that. I have a rare 28" Oregon lightweight bar that's labeled Husqvarna in .063, I think they may have been an error and then sold when they weren't supposed to have been.
Here's a never fired 268xp I bought in 2018, if it would have had a side tensioner I might have kept it. I know it was an old purchase, but might as well share it with some guys who can appreciate it :). I liked that it came with the bar it was purchased with.

Got the bar off egay…

Race motors run the best right before they blow up, so with the 268 being an 87 and not a darn thing done to it since new, (that I know of, maybe a shade tree guy ported it) maybe that’s where it’s at… On edit it runs as good or better than my bone stock 272XP and 372 Xdork, and is a *b-word to pull over…. It runs too good ( no air leaks) to tear down to see if someone’s been in it.

I'll have to check and see if I can find one, I have a few oddball bars to hang in the shop when I get it finished.
Funny about that race motor thing.
I had an ms310 that would pull a 24 like mad, I sold it, I was wondering if it was gonna blow. Sounds like you got "that one" to have. While I like them, I'm more into the 3 series saws. I dove into the 2 series saws for a year(2016) and owned many after that too, but only have the modded 242xp left. My first was a never fired 288, sweet saw.

I was never a fan of the 2 series style recoil handle, the 3 series feels much nicer in hand, do you need one, I'm pretty sure I have at least one extra.

@Drptrch figured you'd want to see that cover again  lol.

Funny you mention that, it’s wearing a 372 recoil handle, the stock one was kinda beat up, thanks though.

Got some more chains and grinding wheels. Oregon EXJ for my Husky 394.

I also got a couple CBN wheels, 1/8" and 3/16". I wanted to try the Tecomec Premium Corundum Vitrified wheels too. So I ordered 2 of each, 1/8" and 3/16".

And Mr. Parker was right, "fragile" is Italian.

How are you liking the CBN wheels vs the ones that come with the super jolly?

Unfortunately, I haven't got to use them yet. I keep up on my chain sharpening and don't have any that need sharpened at the moment.
