You get a crank fur that Swede redhead back there?
It’s comin

I need to get some smalls too like gaskets n stuff

not sure when I’ll get to it

have 61/266 I built I need to finish

Need to build a short block for @huskihl to put a 272 top end on

288 to build

super xl 925 to rebuild

670 carb still giving me fits

2050s to build/fix.

And that’s just the saw projects…that I can remember. First world problems…working on saws might wait til it’s time to hole up in the AC for summer. I am most anxious to get the 288 together and try it.

EDIT - and most importantly, the carbon fiber bar project! Finally got the inserts from waterjet today. Time to epoxy and test.

Bought myself two Husqvarna 545 first gen from 2013 and 2016 cheap on auction as project saws.
One has scored piston and the other one cracked tank handle.
Will be dead saw salvage on these ones :)

Update!
My ”dead saw salvage” has now arrived and to my surprise it showed that both saws are from 2016 with low hours. The saw that was claimed to not start and scored piston has a mirrorlike bore and piston, new sparkplug and fuelfilter but not started, turns out they had not primed the carb. Instead they mounted new x-cut bar and chain on it and sold it.
The only real problem is in the saw with a bit more hours were the tank had a hole in it, 10 minutes with heat gun and epoxi glue we have two running 545:s in grat condition.

Not chainsaw related but bought this pair of winter boots and got em yesterday. These things are ridiculous, they advertise insulated to -148 f...only problem is sometimes i have to walk while working, and these böt anchors arent good for that, but ill certainly stay warm on days where i dont have to walk

Yes they really are, plenty of snappy power in a light and beutiful orange package.

Today a used 550xp got added to the mix of Swedish and German saws!
Turns out the dealer were i bought it had used the metal piston stop to crank of the clutch.
They ended up deforming and kinda warped the piston on the top so it rubbed on the top of the connecting rod.
Gave them tip to throw that stop away and use the plastic one or the rope to lock engine.
Quite embarrased the dealer pays for all parts needed as the sold the saw ”just serviced” with new carb and in great mechanical shape.
Took me 2 minutes to feel that something wasnt right, after warm-up and under cuttingload it started acting up.

beware of the metal piston stops!
