New tools usually pay for themselves in the first job or two.
That is true from one aspect but some greedy bastards pay for it on the first job and then stick it to the next 20. I think that is *B-S......

Years ago my FIL bought a Central Boiler. The dealer was just getting going and charged him $1000 to bore the hole in the cinder block. My FIL was pissed. The dealer said he had to buy the bit. Well the bit was not $1000 and neither was the labor to spend 5 minutes boring a hole. A number of years later I bought a boiler from the same dealer. He wanted to charge me $1000 to bore the hole. I laughed and told him I would bore it myself.

Those are some damn nice gears. How long are the boxes?

Wagons are 16’ BN1050’s. The back one looks like it’s never been used and the front one looks amazing as well but has new plywood so it isn’t as pretty.

The gears are three year old EZ-Trail 1274’s and we’re only used for one silage season before being parked. They still have the little rubber knobs on the tires and are basically brand new.

And here are things unknown
The small two are probably sharpening stones, I would glue them to a stick. 2 brass glasses look like filters, one dirty one is clogged but the other clean one lets through. And the stone rotates on a ball bearing pin, maybe it's for dressing the grinding wheel

I take it you bought them to use as silage wagons then.

I find it interesting that a dealer like that is still in business. I see it here too though

The dealer set a precedent, someone paid the fee once, and unfortunately unless there is competition, it will remain that way or get worse.
I've seen this type of niche pricing before, I was almost caught in it's web myself. I ended up buying the tools to do the job and denied the "scalper" at least my revenue stream.

It is because no Central Boiler dealers here have a clue how to install them. They just want to have the boiler shipped to them then load it on your trailer. This dealer is a cop but has a FIL that is a "plumber" so he thinks he knows. I have tons of experience trying to get CB dealers to actually do anything other than collect money

Nope. I’m going to build some oil well pipe bale racks to put on them. Gotta do some measuring and figuring yet but they’ll likely be 10’x26’ with a 12” channel for stringers. I paid less than the price of one new bare running gear for both of these gears and boxes. I sent pictures to a neighbor that will likely buy both boxes for what I paid for the whole works. Can’t argue with that. I got a screaming deal on them as the guy has been trying to sell them for a while and told me if I took them both I could have them for half price because he wanted them out of his shed.

He’s got two more like these two but someone else “spoke for them” but hasn’t paid for them yet. I told him to let me know if the other side doesn’t show and I’ll come down and pay him and make them gone.

Sounds like they get the same sort of dealers everywhere

What kind of project saws do you have?

Husqvarna: 254XP, 266SE, 268XP, 340, 345, 350, 372XP, 380CD, 480CD, 545, 550XP, 565

Stihl: 026, 028, MS240, MS241, MS460, MS461, 056, 088

Plus some small Solo, Shindaiwa, Partner, Efco, Emak and Chinese saws.

All not working. Some blown up. I've been busy bottom-feeding on broken saws on eBay for the past few years.
