Stepped up my leafblower game today. The trusty old Tanaka has got a coil going out so it's a beech to restart when it's hot and they're NLA. Pisses me off because it's a great machine.

The local redmax dealer had a 20% off deal so I figured it was time. Sure hope this ebz8560 is as trusty as the old Tanaka.

I think a coil for your old blower might be available over here, if the part number is correct?

any idea whats different from the 8550? we’ve put many hundreds of tanks of fuel thru 8500/8550s and theyve been flawless.

From what I gather 8560 has a little more juice and hair heavier than the 8550, just as the 8550 is a little more than the 8500. They all look damn near identical looking at them side by side.

If it is indeed mechanically the same as it's predecessor's it'll more than likely last me a lifetime as a homeowner unit.

when i got my 8550 they said the only difference was in the design of the fan and tube. engines been basically the same for almost 20 years

i should add a couple things. ive replaced a fuel line on the 8500 i have, also the throttle arm thing, throttle cable was worn out. also check the filter cover screws, they like to come loose (insert husky joke here) other than that nothing.
the newer one needs a new tube because it
got cut by an uncover sawchain in the back of my truck.
oh and you will break the choke lever off eventually. still works fine, just gotta have thumbpower.

It's hard to believe that will clean up. Post up pics when you are done.
Will do
I am using a Griswald No 10 that was half buried for years that looked worse.
I did sand the real pitted area a bit, and they have filled with carbon over the years. It's my meat pan.

Solid info Custer.

I am aware of all the little wear and tear stuff on these machines. As I have quite a few customers that I maintain equipment for and the majority of them run redmax 7500/8500/8550's Probably the main reason I went with redmax because those machines get absolutely abused and mistreated and they just keep on ticking.

Had this one come in for a "hard start that's gradually getting worse and doesn't run as good as it used to". A good chunk of the base gasket was gone, it lost a cylinder bolt and the other three were not tight. It had been run like that for quite some time by looking at the crusty oil residue covering the blower housing and bottom of the machine. Hard to believe it even ran at all and yet the piston and cylinder looked damn good considering.

My pawn shop score this weekend. Got out the door with it for $300 cash. Strong compression and it started with just a couple pulls with quick throttle response. Looks scuffed up a bit but I think it's mechanically pretty solid. The 28" Husqvarna bar doesn't have a sharp lip but the chain is TRASH. Every tooth is rock damaged and is a different length, filed at a different angle. Some were almost gone. I put it in some wood and it tried to cut a crescent. Lol. I could lever it in and it still sounded strong. Looking forward to getting a new chain on it
