A special square bar.
Like a bow bar just with corners?
Cool!

Gotta get me a square B&C setup at some point (another stupid idea). :p

Back to the drawing board . . .

Damn!

Does Pil(tz) have some, or do I need to special order it?
I really don't know.
Call around and ask for the special square bar set up.
Square bar with square sprocket.
It will take them some time to look it up.
Don't let em lie and say they never heard of it.

Logic dictates that if there's square chains, than there has to be square bars and sprockets to match them!
I'll find what I need to get a complete square setup.

Your on it
Yeah.

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I'll go through a brick wall head on if needed! :BangHead:
I usually just hope I don't have to, lol. :D

Nice chatting with You, cheers :)

When your bucking logs for firewood, it is nice to either have more firewood at the end of the day, or to end you day a little earlier, and a 10-15% difference will be noticeable.

As you state, for tree removal, the skill of the operator is the most important factor.

A 10% speed advantage for recreational firewood cutting doesn't even apply..after you figure all the variables of processing firewood itself you arent going home any sooner or making any more wood worth talking about...if the guy cutting beside you was 10% slower in the same logs and you stopped to take a piss he would catch up...silly in reality.

Let's see, 10% of an 8 hour day is more than 3/4 of an hour ... damn, I could take two pisses and still almost keep up!

You live in fairy land mike.

Noone cuts firewood for 8 hours STRAIGHT...i could probably fill my dump 3 times if i ran my saw for an hour straight with just fuel breaks if the wood was down and in a comfortable place to be cut...maybe more actually i never paid that close of attention...too many variables anyway , silly.

The incidentals of moving a log or anything involved processing the wood negate a 10% speed advantage of a cut on one log..its not even real.

Truff, half of any day on the 660 saw is a long day. More truff, too many tanks thru a pp455 bow will kick the *s-word outa all of you. Never again. Burned gallons of gas all day long, hurt to. Only thing worse is running an 088 in big oak.

Skip vs Full, right. Umm, full most times. I rarely pull out a 32"+ bar. 660 28" full chisel most times. Rim 7 or 8 depending on the wood.

I just bid a job today that I estimated will take 5.5 hours. I will probably use an 026 and Groundi will use an MS180 and neither one of us will refuel the saw. The time will be spent primarily on rigging, moving equipment around and hauling debris. Maybe 20 minutes of actual saw run time each. So a 10% increase in cutting speed is going to net us about 2 minutes each. So in our day, instead of us putting in 11 man hours, it would be 10:56. This in my opinion is "negligible".
