You translate what that can of oil says ?

Not so easy to translate , but I found this information online about this oil I use on my axes , and have used for 30 years for different purposes... By the way is it ok to post links on this forum?

More axes as promised, the Collins and R. King have 30" hickory handles. The one with the hammer head, I made myself from a board of hickory .

Thanks! I in the beginning of my adventure of burning my axe handles, they all turned out more or less black, or looking like the skin of a leopard... learning new things every day, ....

Hi from Norway.
First day on this forum, I have seen a lot of good looking l axes and chainsaws here. Got the love for axes 3 years ago. This is my R.King Toolsteel USA. Bought a rusty head on EbayView attachment 111202 and hafted it with a hickory handle . Burned it lightly and then oiled it with Owatrol.

I am not really a fan of those round wedges. They seem to split the wood, at least most all the ones I have seen.

This is a Norwegian axe, Mustad, hafted with a 26" Hultafors Bruk ,hickory handle that has been fire treated and oiled by me. This is the first axe I ever buildt , 2015.

I got them at a local store, but you can find them on Amazon.uk

I get them from my ash handle supplier if anyone wants a selection of metal wedges give me a shout postage is hardly anything they are ones I use can get them in different sizes

I’m gonna have to come up with something to protect this handle. It is a monster for splitting but I really can’t avoid overstrikes with larger green wood. View attachment 111249View attachment 111250

I use cohesive bandage or vetrap if you can gat your hands on it
cheap but affective and it helps your white finger if you suffer from it

I use to soak the wedge end in oil for a day or two, do not think it is a bad idea... View attachment 111243

Made in england , Good wedges, they can be pretty brutal and might crack the wood , always searching for the perfect mushroom shape. I use the nr 5 size...
