Thank's I've heard it will bring chainsaw files back never tried it though.Yes Sir, I just plain white vinegar works great.
Nice they had lord knows how many stamps and product's over the decade'sI have this old Kelly Hand Made going in the bath next.
Thank's I've just started getting the vintage axes I've always had them but never collected them.
You wouldn't believe what I've found lol
Many of my older friends and family friends and relatives worked at kelly axe/true temper we all call it Kelly's here they just simply brought stuff home and used or sold it.
It wasn't collectible then.
Like my friend bob said when he worked for 12 yrs they sold heads and handles next to nothing to the employees .
before they were stamped and they resold them to make money or the guys filled their lunch buckets with what would fit.
it's funny the old fellas that worked at kaiser aluminum and union carbide said the same thing about if it fit in their lunch buckets they brought it home people was real poor back then.
I know of a few guys that retired from there in the 70's i'm going to talk to them if they are still around.
I like the history of it and each old fella has a different name for each tool I've shown them lol
i found dozens of axe heads they won't sell they are some old time hoarders around here lol
I will clean the heads up i always just wore the rust off but you guy's like pretty axes.
Here is my collection. Nothin real special though. Double bits l to r . Round Craftsman, Juniata Blue(Mann axe), kelly, kelly red warrior ( my grandfather's ) and a 3.5lb plumb the others are 4lb

Trying it i have 5 Kelly's soaking the cruiser reacted instantly it has the least surface rust. What I really like about the vinegar bath is. After it starts to clean them up, you can really see the hardness line in the bit.
Then you know how much life is left in it.
Nice I have limited experience with those designs .Here yah go
