I WILL HAVE a seasoned Cherry axe hanging Mallet before too long!
I have a ton of Cherry & my large rubber mallets & dead blow hammers just dont have the impact required for TT eye ridges! Lol

Man I forgot about this thread.

I’ve still got the plumb 5 pounder I put 3 handles in. The last one I put in was 2018 In this thread. No glue on wedge still tight. It’s buried currently under a 6 wheeler load of wood…. Needs to be recovered.

I did a couple more axes and have bought a Collins I keep in my truck for saw work now. My little plumb split and the poll is bent up so it kinda messes my wedges up. I do still have it it’s put away somewhere. I’ve got a couple old beaters but nothing I’ve dreamed worthy of my last good handle laying around.

Here's my newest acquisition. This axe addiction stuff is shaping up to be as bad as my chainsaw addiction............ awesome. 😂

I will say, these suckers are pretty slick. By far the highest quality axe I've bought, judging by first impressions anyways.

I hung this 3.5# Woodslasher & basically ruined it bye using Acetone to wipe blotches with a Walnut stain on the handle, made it sticky in spots.
Didnt stain very well at all!
Then to try & save it, I re-sanded it the handle & used some Fiebings leather dye.
The stuff is AWESOME!
It's almost instant!
MUCH easier to use than any Stain!

No I havent tried it.
I think the problem on that Woodslasher was that there was some sapwood & when I used acetone on the handle it interacted with the sap.
I'll have to keep an eye out for the Danish oil tho.
I've read about it in the past.

I bought this one today.
2 1/4 pound head (Boys Axe).
The most money I have ever paid for a axe ($62 total)!
Really not too bad considering the price of run of the mill axe prices on eBay now a days!
I've become more interested in the old hardware brands lately.
