The Mann "Knot Klipper" models are prolly my favorite axe for actual use.
Rockwell hardness is higher than most axes & heat treat is spot on.
They hold a edge better that most axes I've owned.

Plumb 3 pound (not a ounce over 3 pounds) "Jet Wing" double bit I found a while back...
Just need to clean up the head.
Found a handle that fits the uncommon size eye finally!
Have a big ole chunk of Walnut to make a wedge & plenty of leather to make a mask & just too damn lazy to get around to it!

I gave $7 for this 4 pound Jet Wing, cleaned it up & sold it for $85. Lol

Mann made the Norland axe someone previously posted as well as the Lincoln axe which is a rare one. Good find!

Yes whiskey river first one I've used of this type handle I have to admit I'm impressed.

Buddy has a Spiller hewing axe, I’m about an hour from where they were made. Brant and Cochran is a newer axe maker also in Maine who make them old school.

I’ve been splitting wood with a cheap farm store 3.5lb axe. I picked this up with hopes it will help on the big stubborn stuff.

Went out and tried the Gransfors Brux splitting maul…worked great! Went right through some tough tangly maple.
