I'd be afraid to split firewood with a double bit Ax. Just me.
I have one shaped like that ,splits firewood pretty good .
It's not the weight that splits with a double bit ,it's the momentum ,they swing real nice ,unless i have real limby knotty wood ,i grab the double bit first ,then the arvika if need a little more power ,if that don't do it it gets tossed to the side for the gas log splitter .
