I always used vinegar and then distilled water. I was told it wouldn't rust. But that is what I was told. Take it for what its worth. And then a good bath with WD 40.Here’s the finished article just scrubbed down with wire wool
and hot soapy Water

I think I will hang on to this one. Looks like the Virginia axe pattern in the chart @ajschainsaws that he posted a while back.. I saved it to my pictures. Thanks AJThat should be a Kelly. One of oldest or oldest Axe companies in the US. Wanna trade? lol
If you get ready to sale handles let me know. I will put one of yours on one or maybe all. With your signature sign.Yes Iam from U.K. I always get heads from someone in California
Another super guy in Oregon who’s got me some good ones and
Another in Canada
Most of the Norlund heads have been scouring Ebay and from Oregon
The norlund collection has been quite expensive so far
Over here double bits are very thin on the ground so I’ve been trying too source
All types and keep selling and buying and gradually building up axe sales
Iam in the process off having my own handle design done with a CNC lathe
In 28” and 36” I’ve made two handles in these sizes and got them as near as
I can too a cylindrical shape with a good size head fitment , decent palm swell
And a good fell you wanna keep picking up then I can can stamp them
And keep the copyright and hopefully sell a few in europe
I don't blame you. I would love to find one from Blue Grass Hardware with Bluegrass design.I think I will hang on to this one. Looks like the Virginia axe pattern in the chart @ajschainsaws that he posted a while back.. I saved it to my pictures. Thanks AJ
After all I am from Virginia. I have a double bit I’m going to clean up.
I try to pick all I can up at flea markets when I find them. They closed my favorite one in Roanoke.
Thanks for the offer Junior
