Thanks. That is a great read. It sounds like Bluegrass Belknap competition. I traded my Estwing for the Simmons, as mentioned earlier the Estwing was to short and he liked it that way. Now to attempt to whittle a new handle out of a old white oak tobacco tear rail. And now to switch back and listen to the show me your handles reads. I'll get pics. Great site.

Nice lookin axes. I have a small Trojan axe that as far as I understand is of Australian origin. They seem to be pretty scarce here in the states. Do you know anything about the company? Are they still in business?
They started out as Hytest then were brought by Trojan and now Cyclone. Plumb Aust was in there for a while to.

That is a Tutahi work axe from NZ. since this photo was taken its been reground for racing
Yes I have seen these beautiful axes from Tuatahi for sale online, so the only difference between a work axe and a racing one, is the grinding angles? All the best from Norway
