OK!!!!!! original saw is torn down. ... I have 3 solutions to the problem!

#1, the solution shown above. shorten the bushing and oiler pinion slightly.

#2, the huztl clutch is too thick. .... swap it for the hyway AND use the thinner washer at the end ... 30thou vs 40

#3, SWAP THE BEARING!!!!! OMG!!! the bearing that comes from huztl has a 10mm thick inner race. the am bearings I bought from cross at HL have a 9mm thick inner race. pretty sure I need to contact huztl on this one. what a SUPER frustrating issue that seems to lie in the fact that the bearing they used from the factory has too thick an inner race. now, before anyone asks...is it a more heavy duty bearing? I don't think so. it just looks like more metal on the inner race. same balls etc.

I need someone to check an OEM 044 pto bearing... if its 9mm then huztl definitely needs a phone call.

also. it does appear that the spacer/bushing rides on the crank, not the inner race. with a 9mm thick inner race, the crank "landing" is longer, so the bushing seats firmly against that. ... and it stable when sandwiched.

I swapped out the crank...for one that i DIDN"T grind on.... makes me feel better :)

As an after thought... since the bushing doesn't sit fully down on the inner race of the bearing, it DOES stand to reason that the bearing *could* be thicker.

so what is correct here folks? i'm putting this puppy together and thats it...no more bearing swapping lol...

Only way to figure out what's right and wrong is to have one OEM saw/parts to compare against.
Them AM parts should follow the dimensions of OEM parts, simple as that.

Mastermind checked yesterday. The oem bearing has a 9mm inner race.

Huztl has the wrong bearing in there.

but thats the point, this particular bearing they are using doesn't work. I dunno what they are thinking

the other am bearings you can buy for the 440 are the same dimensions as oem. ...so why did huztl put the wrong bearing in their 440 cases? I dunno. but it isn't right....
