This box elder was cut over a year ago. It got real hard. Burns real long time for me. I lay a row of split wood and lay a cookie on top of all them. Burns hot for a long time. [emoji106]

You might try a little more hook before you lower the rakers.

It's square filed Jim. This chain is at .042-.044" on the 3 I measured. It doesn't feed like I like.

Added another muffler opening/deflector to the flywheel side.

Think I'm gonna leave it be for a while.

More forward lean would help I'm sure. Just not easy to learn to put 3-5°

You can also set the hook after you do the top and then tie em together with a few light strokes if you're off on the corner. I use a double bevel flat file by hand.

I had a new loop of rs, clamped it in the vice. Few strokes later the tooth was about that big and half sharp.

Don't think that's how it supposed to work eh?

True. Just not quite something a guy filing his 2nd or 3rd chsin isprobably going to get done.

That will be a Square File 300 level class. Lol
Most of us just got done with square file 101. [emoji2]
