Funny you say that about the 440, I got a used one that I loved. Ended up retiring it for a 460 for a while, then had a 372xt I didnt like, then the dolmar 7910 I loved....had that for yearsEven though I'm not a logger, when going any distance into the woods, I totally agree with that assessment, but would add the 044/440. When you get a good running one, they are hard to beat.
The 440 was so respected that after they replaced it with the 441, they had to re-introduce it … and charged more for an old tech 440 than for a newfangled 441!!!
