390 build off had 3 rules
saw had to have stock intake boot
all saws used supplied chain that came off the roll
all saws had to use supplied gas

John Riley's saw had external transfers, built by ec saws

I had 2 saws in the race, one took second, the other was just for the fun of it.

I came across some videos from a few years ago on YouTube of the 660 build off on AS and seen that a few 372's were whooping some 90cc! Wow is all I can say.

Several years ago, before I even deleted the base gasket or advanced the timing, my 044 beat up a 066 (both w/24" bars) pretty badly, and the 066 guy told me his saw was not stock (I think he drilled a small hole in the muffler).

W/O porting, many 066/660s are pretty pathetic. With proper porting, as you have seen at some of the GTGs, the 70 cc saws have no chance against them with the longer bars.

So are the saws now stronger or slower than those then is the big question???

Odd thing about ms660's...I've picked stockers up that wouldn't pull a dildo out of a lard bucket, and others that will pull whatever with a bigger hole in the muffler. Like snowflakes, each is different.
I admire your improvisational skills, I too like to use whatever I have on hand for testing saw strength.

Are we still doing this 372 thing? Lol
I put the long bar on it today and took it out to Bob's for a run on one of the big logs. It still needs a few tanks through it to get good and broke in. This is a frosted up 415 year old log that I'm cutting.
Fresh sharpened chain with rakers set by gauge at .025".
