I would and will. ...but I won't call it an 064
They are hybrids. They share the same crank but you bump up in bore size. With doing so, you bump up your original displacement size. Why not i get they share same crank and very similar case?why do we call a 044 046 a hybrid? Also whys tm saw sound so muxh diff then man of stihls in the 2 videos .i taded the ks 064. Ks for a 066 mahle non decomp. With thicker base.thanx
Thanx ive heard stay 064 then ive heard hybrid 064. in your opinion wich way would you go i can go either.i allready have a 064 and another cylinder but traded a spare 064 cylinder for an 066 non decomp with thick base i can only afford to port one right now. I hope i didndnt screw up by trading my 3rd 064 cylinder i thought hybrid was way to go.whats your opinion thanx. They are hybrids. They share the same crank but you bump up in bore size. As for sound....there are waaaay too many reasons for that. Exhaust ports, exhaust shape, transfers....and I'm sure there are other factors
This will be 2ndIt's all about personal preference man. If you already have a couple 64s, go forward on the hybrid.
They all run good, just some better than others...
I have a nice 064 ks if you want to trade back for your 066 non-decomp cylinder.Thanx ive heard stay 064 then ive heard hybrid 064. in your opinion wich way would you go i can go either.i allready have a 064 and another cylinder but traded a spare 064 cylinder for an 066 non decomp with thick base i can only afford to port one right now. Can it wait a bit i have one now i can send with saw and the 066 top end to porter im goin to use let him decide wich way is best way based on timing numbers.if he says the 64 cylinder at that time id then say yes lets trade because id have no use for the 066 top end.does that souns fair? Thank youI have a nice 064 ks if you want to trade back for your 066 non-decomp cylinder.

Most likely so. its i know its a flat top 066 mahle with thick base.it took me a long time to find one.i will be in touch thanx for honestyAs far as a flat top 066 for an 064 jug...the trade don't sound fair at all to me, but if you still want to do it knowing what you're giving up then I'm ok with that.
I'll be wagering that the builder you send it to will build it with the 066 jug, so I'm pretty confident we won't be trading. Lol
I don't make choices for anyone, but I will answer questions.
the old saying goes, there's no replacement for displacement.
I don't think I have seen a 064 cylinder that had poor numbers to start with, can't say that about 066/660 cylinders.
