Crap safety chain on the 6100 and on 3rd tank of gas. Got 9 secs time for both on fastest cut. Tried to get a disadvantage for the 6100 on purpose to show its power. The faster cut for 6100 was when I was leaning on it. Which shows how inferior the chain was. If I had more time I would have swapped bars and chains for a direct comparison. AV is amazing on 6100, best I've felt.

Good thing the 044 wasn't still around!
A 44 is a good saw but use it all day and then pick up a saw with spring AV you won't want to use it. I'd like to try a 441. That's my personal preference. Speed is only part of the story with actual productivity. Some aren't bothered by the 044/046 anti vibe and that's fine everyone is different.

I can not stand to run a saw w/o AV for more than about 30 seconds, but I can run rubber AV all day long and not know the difference from spring AV. Like Mason says, we are all different, and I respect that.

If I run a saw w/o AV in the cold, my hands keep vibrating for quite some time!

Also, I always wear gloves when cutting, so that may also have something to do with it.

I like the rubber AV still, I have a better feel for the saw. Espeacially with a longer bar. Some of the springs are just too soft for me
Only time I like rubber av is to fall trees. It's just what I learned on and is more comfortable. 661 with a 36 felt like a 372 with a 36. A/V limiter all maxed out and the bar not parallel to the powerhead.

I do have some padded gloves to kill some of the vibes in the stihls. Definitely helps when milling.

Some of uncle lee's macs about rattle the filling of your teeth out, kool old saws that make me feel great respect for those old loggers that ran them all day every day in the woods.

Some do and some don't.
I'm starting to wonder if some saws have a better balanced crank/piston. I ran a 9010 smurf ported that has rubber AV and it didn't seem to bother me. Stihl 024/026 series don't seem to be too bad as well. Does compression affect vibration? Just brainstorming here. I know a 6100 has around 200 factory compression and it's smooth as can be, maybe well balanced rotating assembly with good AV?
