All I have in my area to "legally" cut is lodgepole/jack pine. Not as sappy as the ponderosa. I only own 3 saws, 2101XP, 075, and Mac 797. Most saw shops here in the PNW only sell 3/8 so that's what I've dialed my saws into run. I've read many articles on skip vs full comp and I'm sure there is a difference, especially in the type and size of wood you are cutting. For me and the big cubes it's 3/8 full skip with the rakers dropped quite a bit. I don't own any fancy filing *s-word, or raker gauges, I can tell when it's time to drop em. They are firewood saws also. So if I happen to rock em by chance I got less cutters to file. All are 36" bars.
