Looks like you stayed in a Holiday Inn.
Dustin made it a runner. I like the way a 272 handles as well.
I think I'm tuned a little fat.
What size bar on the 395? toying with the idea of buying a panther mill and running a 42 full skip for a 36 inch max cut.Want more power milling? Run a bigger saw. Lol. The 395 dusted the 572 by about 1.5 - 2 minutes per slab... running 10” more bar and larger .404 chain. The 572 doesn’t do bad... but once you get into 20-25” stuff especially hardwood... big saw or a band mill is your friend.
I’m running 42” .404 full comp semi chisel, it has the power... but I recommend skip just cause it takes half the time to file and doesn’t seem to cut much slower on that size bar. .404 is definitely the way to go for milling with big saws, much more durable imo. I get about 34” useable cut with the dogs on the saw as well. So you should be able get the full 36” with them removed. What size bar on the 395? toying with the idea of buying a panther mill and running a 42 full skip for a 36 inch max cut.
Oils a 42 well enough then i assume?I’m running 42” .404 full comp semi chisel, it has the power... but I recommend skip just cause it takes half the time to file and doesn’t seem to cut much slower on that size bar. .404 is definitely the way to go for milling with big saws, much more durable imo. 395 PISSES oil. Very heavy duty saw, excellent filtration, stout power to boot.Oils a 42 well enough then i assume?
