Seeking info spanking

I've read where builders put together mutt saws from parts. A lower case from this with an upper cylinder of that etc. A right side of this with a left side of that etc.

Who wants to share what models share chassis and are eligible for this type of build ? What families or series of saws.

Optimal performance is not required, but reliability and usability are. So that servicing etc is normal. No machine shop one off stuff. Factory or aftermarket parts would fit.

Whatever brands you would like to share.

I'm mostly interested in 70 something cc to 90 something cc. But what saws you know about are fine.

So if a fella ran onto a ditched 64xx Dolmar he could make it into a 79xx?
Yes...so easy even a drunken sailer dressed up in a cave man outfit could do it. Straight swap piston and cylinder bolt everything back together. Pull hard . Smile like a drunken sailer in a caveman suit...I think the last one I did took 45 minutes ...hair kept getting caught in the T27
