You have a Poly flywheel 066
But on a short case? The case has wear marks from the recoil vibrating because the bottom mounting holes were busted off. That was the wide recoil cover for the poly flywheel. Not sure if it's visible in this pic or not.

It's not a short case.
The recoil is a 660 because it has stihl molded into it. All of the recoil will fit any of the 066/660. The earlier saws had a orange badge in the middle of the recoil.
In 1996 they changed to the big bearing, big crank, big case and poly flywheel.
There still 066's till 2002.

All 066's have the same wide recoil.
The badge is all that's different

Ok so mine isn't a short case then? It looks the same as my 064 case.

Dave had a really cool thread about case capacity on these 1122's I think there were like 5 cases or something. Dan I think you have the same case as I do, it's not the tight case 064/early 066. And it's not the big 660 case. My saw is all original flattop decomp with a poly flywheel. It's somewhere between the short and long cases.

Yeah there must have been a period where they fitted large cranks up to short cases or something.
That is an interesting one.

It looks to have the large size oil seal of the long case with the front design of the short case.

Very cool!
