Well looks like you and Deets have in between model cases.

Hang onto them.

Part availability of large crank and flywheels with small case lower volume.

If you dont want it I will PM you my address :)

I always knew we were a couple odd balls! Case is all powdered and parts are cleaned. I think I'll use a new oem piston. Still probably need some small parts can't remember from when I took it apart. It will get built sometime this year. Too busy to get saws finished right now! Thanks for the help and info guys!

Short case has a little white plug in the front of the case below the oil tank plug
Long case does not.

Both short and long cases have a plug,a long case poly flywheel 066 can have the plug also.

The only good way to know is,if it has a poly flywheel it's not a short case, the case gasket is 1/2 or better shorter on the short case. The seal pocket is bigger on the long case. Short case saws have a small end on the crank at the flywheel, same crank as the 064, long case has a very obvious bigger crank.
The plastic plug just means it's a 066 not necessarily a short case.

I think the poly flywheel 066 has a larger case volume than even a 660.

If the 395 isn't Rediculous it can be beat buy if it's super strong it is ahead with longer bars.

I don't think a 395 can beat a stihl with a short bar. 36" plus I'm betting on the 95

Personally,
I think that's encouragement for you to try harder. [emoji6]
I can beat my 395 with a 36"
Does that mean I can beat every 395?
Absolutely not
Are the 066's or 064's that I build the strongest? Absolutely not

Send me a saw and we'll see what happens.

I've watched that before but never timed them to see what won.
395?
Absolutely.
Moobs had 2 395's there and one of em was flat putting out more power than anything else. torque and rpm.
Andy's TM064 showed real well though. But is also very well broke in.
All saws were run with new chains off the same roll.

The one 395 was hauling the mail compared to the rest!
