Makes you wonder how many hours caused that or how much crap invested could wear plating like that. Had to take several pistons I'd bet.
It's off a demo saw, everyone has plating wore off but I've never seen that much gone.
Still working everyday just hard starting.

Concrete saws and demo saws live a hard life. Seen many with patches wore thru but never the whole area like that. Wow. I wonder if they did the no airfilter mod like many do around here.

I ran the Rat Rod junkyard 064 today.
It starts to burble coming back from full lean at 15000 rpm and sounds nice at 14500.
Being fresh I set it at just over 14000 and ran it.

Its a weapon!

I only ran it in some loose firewood chunks and it drops trough faster than any other saw I have run, but the spikes kept biting into the timber as it was pulled back by the chain and hampered a smooth cut.

Going to try and get it in a fallen tree tomorrow. Will have to take a video.

I have the old BING 49 which is fitted to the saw and seems to work just fine.
I also have just received a brand new OEM Walbro WJ10A.

Are the BING carbs that much better that its worth running over the Walbro?
I do like the look of the directional main jet

I carefully stripped it and cleaned it out but was unable to replace anything as carb kits for these are NLA
I have contacted BING and they are looking into what they may still have.

It seems to run just fine but i Will pull it out and do some measurements of it besides the WJ10A

Here it is running at 14300 RPM
Timber is dead dry and hard. Not huge but best I had on hand.
Running round file Oregon 3/8 full chisel, nothing flash.
On the 2nd cut I really dogged it in hard but it held up well.

Wish I had some pine :-)

Video with it backed off to 14000 is loading

Thanks guys, I am very happy with it.
I would really like to thank Jason for his help and advice. I have learned much!
Should go better when I ditch the HD2 filter.

The sound........ it sounds different to a stock saw. Its got a smoother sound to it.
I am going to have to get a tacho to keep on it to keep tabs of the revs. It will lean out to over 16000 and starts to get a burble at 15000 RPM
