I went from not being able to find a cylinder to do it to having 2 of these to build at the same time. Only problem is neither are mine. Lol

I think I finally nailed down a cylinder to build me one, there not easy to find

No they are not easy to find! If a 93cc saw can pull a 32" .404 like that. I can't wait to see what a 98.5 cc saw will do.

I'm trying to decide on whether to port my 056 mag II or turn my 064 hybrid into a 99cc race saw. All this talk around here has me thinking about it again and now I might actually just do it since there's a race in that size category coming up.

I have three other ideas on the table...race port the P-62 or 2100cd... or put a ported 084 cylinder on a 2100cd.

Doing a stock rebuild on a bubble top 066. I have two cylinders to pick from. I'll run this saw for a while but will eventually sell it...wondering what cylinder I should put on the saw and what one to keep for myself. Here's what I came up with for timing numbers. With a gasket.

Number 1. Ex. 96/168 In. 79/158 Trans. 125. Leaves 29 degrees of blowdown and I believe 46 degrees of primary compression.
Number 2. Ex. 96/168 In. 78/156 Trans. 121. Leaves 25 degrees of blowdown and I believe 43 degrees of primary compression.

Pros, discuss. Just according to the numbers...all things being the same, what's the better runner?

If I was porting one I'd definitely take #2
Leaving It stock I'd still probably take #2
Probably run close either way stock

Number two is a kohlbenschmidt with no decomp. Thin base. Came off of an old red light. Sounds like I'll hang on to that one and install the #1. It's a Stihl brand with a thick base. Thanks jmssaws.

I figured it had to be a older cylinder with the transfers that high

Deuce for sure would be my pick for the better runner Ted
You and me timed that cylinder when you first got your wheel. Couldn't remember the numbers though. I put the Stihl cylinder on this saw I'm putting together, it's a flipper. I'll hang on to the kohlbenschmidt cylinder for a rainy day. Thanks fellers.

The AM Cross Performance 084 cylinder does look pretty good. Wonder what they could drop onto easy.
