I'm gathering parts for my 930 build. Gonna try to use a 066 piston. From what I gather it'll just need a little skirt trimming. This saw was lost in the woods for a number of years. Kinda want to prove to the guy that gave it to me that I can make it run again. He seemed to have his doubts. Might end up a little deeper into it than what's practical but it won't be the first time.

I bought a saw from a guy who's building caught on fire. The outside of the saw was pretty gone. It was a poulan 3000. I changed a few plastics around and did the routine maintenance, and the damn thing fired up great with no ill effects. Gotta love the older poulans.

In the video the 660 was only 160lb of compression and strong, it needs more than that though so I just cut 020 more
Now I got 190:)

A 660 just can't be as strong as the small case 064/066,they don't have as much velocity and it hurts it.

This saw was nib yesterday, never been fueled,I like clean saws

I haven't raised a intake in a while but I think this 660 is gonna need it.

That's funny this came up...I called glock37 the other day and asked him who trims 2" limbs from a pear tree with a ported 064 wearing a 28" ES Light bar? The answer was me! I'm short and I was able to get the branches with no ladder![emoji23]

I get a nib 660r in the mail the other day to port so I don't bother running it is just do what I always do and the damn thing just wasn't right, screw the high shut and it won't turn more than 13000 with no 4 stroke,I worked for a whole day today trying to find out what is wrong and nothing I did helped,it will not go past 13000,it finally grab a can of eather and find the damn flywheel side seal leaking.

I never thought about a seal leaking on a new saw but it was, replaced the seal earlier and I guess it came from the factory without a spring on the seal,my neighbor has been a engineer for stihl for the last 35 years and said he's heard of this a few times.

The saw was under powered but ran ok and tuned decent but would not go past 13000,I didn't think it was a airleak.
