I am very interested in modding a wj carb,I really want to know how to make a stock carb produce more power.

Anybody had any luck with the wj carbs?

I mod wj39's and wj70's from Husky 394's and put them on 288's and 2100's.

Mostly I skinny the throttle shafts, bore venturi, smooth transitions and roughen the surface finish to increase boundary layer turbulence.

How much do you bore the venturi?
I've done that but always seem to have idle problems.

Don't want to burst your bubble or steal your thunder but I do the same using glossy business cards or the like. Thin plastic packaging works well too.

Many ways to skin the cat. It's nice to see the different ideas. Thank you both.

This is the throttle cable for my 394, it pulls right through the carb box???

somewhere around the 16:40 mark:

I have to problem getting the cable through and hooked up. The white plastic peice pulls right through the carb housing? Which gives you no throttle action

sounds like you need a washer....that hole has been enlarged

from a different saw perhaps? does 395 have a different linkage?

sounds like you need a new carb cage / chassis piece
