You guys need some decent hardwood over there!

What was the difference with the transfers mate?

I'm confused. Can you explain further?
Case volume in cc to bore cc.
That's ideal for power. Everything under the wrist pin counts so it's real hard to figure since you have to measure with the piston on and down.

so a saw with not enough case volume would essentially be a screamer with crazy fast throttle response that won't make much useable power
And a saw with to much case volume would likely be lazy feeling with dead throttle response?

Same saw in a oak crotch.
Much better and a bit closer to what we are used to over here.

Runs really nice!

I had a guy ask if I would sell my 066 today and I told him he would not pry it from my cold dead hand!

So what was the difference with the transfers?

The transfers are huge and that goes against everything I think I know.

I think when the motor is spinning at about 13000 rpm, there is a lot more going on than we mere humans can comprehend.
I really believe that every saw will be different, with so many air flow and fuel variables even on like models.

Jay, if you have found one that is out of your line of thinking that runs like a scalded cat, which it obviously does, measure it very closely to see if you can find the difference.

perhaps fill the transfers with water and measure volumes compared to your others?

There's been lots of work from the tunnel all the way out into the cylinder, the lowers are giant and it's the strongest saw I've ever ran. I've only killed saws grinding on the transfers.

It runs like it does from flow and direction instead of velocity.

I ground into my 026 lowers
I smoothed out the lines which would have increased case volume.
I took the uppers up a couple deg only.
It makes my fathers stock 026 pro look like an MS170

I am going to give it a good run tomorrow next to a 55cc Echo and will ask my old man if I can dirty up his saw for a comparison.
Will try and get some vids.
