Yea, that happened with my Brother and my next door neighbor (a few years back). All of them are still running, but don't get a lot of use.

They are just to have "in case"!

Yeah it will be interesting to see how long it lasts before he breaks it. I'm not sure what all I'm going to do to it yet. Probably check timing and squish in the ft cylinder and go from there. How much better is the cross than the ft? What's ideal port timing number's? I'll probably run the hyway pop up, widen all ports, advance timing, dual port muffler. Would like it to smoke his modded 044. I've ran about 6 tanks through my all farmertec saw. So far so good.

When I was buying the Asian 660s HL was having the deal including the Cross P+C, so that is all I've played with. Many of them run pretty strong stock, but even better with some port work.

Different porters and styles seem to sometimes like different #s, but with the 660s longer stroke (than 440/460s) I like to shoot for 97, 120, 82 with a timing advance of .030 off the key.

They seem to run pretty well there w/o being obnoxious to start.

I'm looking at right angle grinders so I can hit the transfers. I think I found a cheap one on ebay that will do the job. I have a harbor freight 1/3hp flex shaft that I've used the crap out of but can't hit the transfers with it. It's crazy how much lighter the hyway popup is compared to the farmertec piston. I need to put my saw up against the one I built for dad.. his has the hyway and slightly reshaped ports. Ground .015 off the key. Definitely can feel the difference in how they start between the two. I have my yz250 project I'm working on as well... trying to get all the goodies for it. Would like to get an apex head with interchangeable domes.

I've got one of those, you can do the transfers in larger cylinders with them but they big. I connected mine to an air foot switch so I could get it in the transfer and then turn it on. I got one of these off Aliexpress for $70 shipped, it's a lot smaller than the one your looking at but I can't say how long they will last because I've only used it once. Pics are of the one on Aliexpress.

Sweet. I'll check them out. Mainly need it for 660 and dirt bike stuff. Here's my buddy playing with my saw on a big red fir. https://youtube.com/shorts/oIcbYKTDV2s?feature=share

Not too crazy but, she's all stock. 24" with full comp and 8t sprocket. Probably would be better with skip in that situation. Doesn't sling much oil. May have to get the "high volume"
Your link sent me to a fu manchu t-shirt haha

So I found those 90 degree grinder heads. Do you think it will work with the harbor freight flex shaft? It has a variable speed foot pedal which is pretty nice.

Yes, with a little modification they work with any Foredom knock off like the HF one.

It hooked right up the the one I have without modification, it takes a keyed shaft.

A true Foredom sheath has a little larger OD that goes into the handpiece and so you have to take around 0.008" out of the handpiece ID to make it fit. The next hurdle is finding 3mm burrs or reaming the collet out to 1/8".

Mine is a $60 knock off, must be why it fits.

Sweet. Thank you. Might lower the transfers on my rm250 if or when the cylinder needs replated. I think that hand piece will come in handy.

Just keep in mind that I've only used mine once and can't say how long they will last.

I Paid $40 for my motor. Was on sale at HF. Used the crap out of it and no complaints yet. I lost the stupid brushes it came with... bearings will probably go first anyways haha
