Not really a build thread, just documenting it's progress and I'll probably have some questions because I've never put one together. My plan was to put an OEM PTO bearing and a Nachi flywheel side bearing in it but for some reason I put the bearings on opposite of what they should be on the crank and messed them up when I took them off, so it's getting Farmertec bearings.

To put the crank in, I ended up poping the seals out, put the oil pup on and heated the case in a 250 degree oven for a 1/2 hour. I did the clutch side first and layed a .025 shim between the case and the lobe, I think it would have been fine without the shim. The crank slid right in both sides without a problem.

Added note: I used a Hyway case gasket and will be using Hyway seals.

I got a chance to work on the cylinder a little more this afternoon, I squared up the intake and staggered the transfers, opening the exhaust side three degrees before the rear part.

Got a little more done today, when I double checked the timing one transfer was a lower than the other and one side of my intake was opening before the other, got that fixed. I also got my piston cut down to set my squish to .020.

I'm stuck in the house today watching kids and my wife said she didn't mind me putting the saw together on the kitchen table so I'm going to see if I can get this thing together.

Problem with their gaskets?
From what I understand the Farmertec case gasket is crap, I probably would have used it with some Hondabond but that Hyway cylinder came with a gasket set so I put it together dry.

I didn't get as much done as I'd hoped today, I felt a little chip on the intake plating so I had to take care of that, then I couldn't figure out what a little rubber piece was, got some help on here for that, then I had a vacuum leak that I searched for and couldn't find, I ended up dunking it and it was coming from the decomp plug. Between all that I had the kids.

I used a ft case to fix a oem 066 and used Yamabond 4 on the gasket.

I normally use Hondabond on case gaskets. I hope I don't regret not using it on this one.

That looks like a plug of some kind but I don't recognize it for being native to an 066 or MS-660.
Maybe it got mixed in on accident when they packaged the stuff up.
