Glad you found it! Yes, an O-Ring, no problem getting them from Husqvarna. Might consider popping in a new set of seals while you're at it, they're pretty inexpensive and a good thing for a saw of that vintage and easy to do, just note where they are placed now.

Working on a friends saw that he had given to him. I guess the saw was used mostly for cutting holes in ice for ice fishing.

Any how at a quick look the on off switch is loose. Cant see how it fastens. Someone on another post showed a pic of a small screw but dont see it on this one.
The half wrap handle is bent will try to straighten.
It has spark and compression.
Think i will grab a carb kit clean carb and go from ther. Try to fire after that and hope it dont need any seals.

You can use a grommet from a 455 and regular bulk fuel line.
Its got a gromit already in it. May have to use regular fuel line. Just woried it will pinch where it makes the short 90 devree turn to carb unless i can rout it a different way.

Got some of the parts. Waiting on the anti vibe rubber.
Fuel line is NLA so just got regular fuel line and a grommet.
Got another switch but it looks the same as the other on so not sure. Can return if dont work.

After seeing your post, I looked at the parts breakdown for a 455 but failed to see a grommet. I probably just overlooked it, so would you help an old man out and tell me where it is or perhaps the part number of this grommet? I have a fuel line for the newer saws ordered just to see if it will work, but with my luck, that's unlikely.

The earlier saws use part # 501814601. Don't know what the difference is or if there's any difference, but the part number is not the same.
Reason I know is because I need one myself. I have a 87 model 281 I'm spending a mint on, to bring back to life.

It's an After Market part.
