Did you remove the sprocket and oil plate?

Remove the O-ring and the sprocket should come off.

I took it apart and didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.

:)

it actually sounds normal now. No high pitch squeal but now the chain doesn’t turn at all
:(

Did you try 'running it with the cover off?
Does the motor turn with the battery connected?
Does the large gear turn freely when disconnected from the worm drive gear at the end of the motor?
Isn't the chain drive sprocket connected directly to the large gear?

These are the things that I would be looking at. Checking to see if there is a bearing, or bushing behind the large gear that is installed wrong, or needs a little attention (filing, grease, etc.).

Is the large gear turning independently from the output shaft?
If it's slipping it can not turn the sprocket & chain.

That is a ridiculously simple setup, not many things that can be wrong.

Watch it messing with the head opened!
Remember, it is a 120Volt device, there is danger of electric shock !

Is it just a trick of the lighting or do the teeth seem a bit "flat" or short in places?
Almost like they might slip if the case has any flex or the bearings have much play.

A strip of regular notebook paper run between them should come through zig-zagy folded.

That could be it. I tried running it with the case off and it spun. However when I put it back together the sprocket doesn’t turn. Not it is not doing anything but the battery making a beeping sound.
If I take the battery out and put it back in it spins until I let go of the trigger and then starts beeping again.

Could it be the flywheel? It’s not catching at some points?

here’s a video of it working without the head attached. But as soon as I put the black piece over the flywheel it stops working

No and I kind of gave up on it. I ended up getting a Dewalt 20v for $99 that works great. I would still like to get it running one day. Stupid sprocket is so cheap handling it I got metal shavings all in my thumb - had to use tweezers to get them out.
