Recommend me an oil measuring vessel?

After reading horror stories of Stihl silver bottle oil, I've sworn off Stihl oil.
Life is too short to worry about crap oil in my $1000+ saw.

I just bought a quart of royal purple 2C.
Now I need a good way to measure it.
I normally use 40:1.
What type of measuring cup is preferred? Amazon has hundreds of designs, all China plastic.
I normally mix 1 gallon at a time. It needs to have a cover, so debris doesn't stick to the oil residue. I dont see myself cleaning it after every use.

Walmart has little measuring glasses in their baking aisle. The cup I have holds 5oz. Works good for me in the shop but not something you want to take to the field because its glass. Although it is pyrex I believe. Measuring lines are to half an OZ.

rinse your mix cup with a little of the mixed fuel to rinse the oil out of it and keep from wasting oil as well

I second the Ratio Rite, best (whatever it was that I paid) I ever spent, easy to use system the way the graduations are on it.

I ended up buying the ratio rite.
I like that it has a cover and is easy to use.
I do wish they would have made the text larger and tactile.

Nice Ratío rite the way to go you could always go over just the top of the numbers with a marker. I always have to mix it outside hold it up to see the marks.

As DD mentioned rinse it out with gas so all the oil you measure goes into the mix your making. I then store in a plastic bag with a rag to wipe it out. Then it will always be clean/dust free when you use it. Now you just need to watch the U-tube video about the 'meniscus' by the 2T mix expert and your covered. Rogue60 posted it a while back.

Cheese and rice, good thing he mixes it BEFORE he pours it in there, it'd be mixed at about 15:1 the way he spills gas.

I would like to say something about the Stihl In the silver bottle, It is great at 50 to 1 you can not mix it at a higher rate
How ever I use the orange bottle cause I run 40 to 1 I like to see some smoke

Slacker, if you want to fully live up to your name. Fill yourself one of your empty stihl bottles to the very top with whatever oil you chose and add to 1.25 gallons of gas. 40:1 and dont spend a dime on a measuring cup.

1.25 gallons?
I thought the Stihl bottle was designed to mix with one gallon for 50:1.
I might be doing it all wrong!

Good info Redfin. Not a Betty Crocker measuring kind of guy here.
I think , no I know that many ran 50 to 1 because it's idiot proof.

I just use an old baby bottle. Yes it’s got a nipple on it when I put the cap on but stays clean.
