That explains why yer always by the tractor when we're on the phone.
Ours is not as impressive as yours(it's a lil Case), but here's a nice view after I gathered some beech blow down in one of the remote fields we have on the estate:

i have seen a lot of pictures of firewood in the UK . it is cut real short and very small? how come the firewood in USA seems 16 inches i try to cut is on the short side .i cut mostly 24 up 32 inch long my spliter can open up to 32 inches if it fits in my spliter it will fit in my stove. are wood cook stove fire box is very small 16 is good length but a couple of 19 inch pieces will fit and the door will still shut.

I dunno bout the UK, but here in Ireland most folks that use wood have an iron wood stove, an AGA/Stanley(A large iron oven thing), or a relatively smallish fireplace, and relatively smallish rooms. Pieces about 8-12" are perfect. I mainly cut for our own fire places and wood burners on the estate in Waterford, which are large due to it being the county seat back in Feudal times. They can take up to 2 feetlengths. But since it's a bit wet here much the time(it is so freakin' green here yer eyes will start to see green when you close them), I cut smaller so they dry faster. If it is Ash, I'll allow larger sizes as the ash here will burn within months after it's split in a large fire if needs be.
Our 10 tonne splitter can do about a 3 foot length. Even so, splitting that length of something like red oak is rather dangerous. It tends to become a bit explodey, and this thing has only one speed - PTO speed, which is always high since I wanna split as much as possible. I have had pieces of oak explode and shove me to the ground. And then there's the part when a 3 foot chunk of oak is heavy AF. So we usually keep the sizes in check.
